Most of my ferment jars were made up of 1/3 ammonia or denatured alcohol and 2/3 water and one ounce of the lichen.  The average fermentation time is between 3 to 5 weeks.  I mixed it about every two days to introduce oxygen into the mixture.  The nice surprise is that I can continue to pull color after the 1st color extraction.

Some colors only use the mordant alum sulfate (12% wof).  Some colors were obtained with alum sulfate (12% wof) and cream of tarter (6% wof).
